Substance Use

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Envision a self beyond substances

Recovering from substance use isn’t just about giving something up. It’s about strengthening your identity, embracing parts of yourself you may have lost sight of.

In other words, it’s not just about quitting. It’s about building.

We treat each client as an individual, understanding their needs, motivations, fears and challenges. Together, we design a path to go from where you are, to where you want to be.

Is this program right for me?

People struggle with substance use in many different ways. If the phrases below sound like you, our intensive outpatient program could be a good fit.

“I’m worried about my substance
use but not sure where to start”

“I’ve completed a residential program
and I’m looking for the next step”

“I’ve tried everything and nothing has worked.
I need a new approach.”

It can be hard to know whether your substance use qualifies as a disorder. This list of criteria can help you determine whether you need outside help.

We support a wide range of substance use challenges, including:

Ongoing Group Programs

After completing the Intensive Program, most clients continue with an outpatient group, or other ongoing support services. Our team can help you determine the group that’s right for you. This is a great way to maintain a strong support system over time.

  • The Relapse Prevention Group offers strategies to address issues that can pose a threat to sobriety during this phase such as finances, relationships, family issues, career matters, and spirituality. The Master-level clinicians who facilitate this group employ a variety of clinical techniques including psychotherapy process, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Experiential Therapies.

  • The ESIR Advanced Process Group is an open-ended aftercare Psychotherapy Group for adults who are stabilized in their recovery with a year or more of abstinence. The group is conducted by an LCSW-R utilizing integrative techniques as they interface with their emotional sobriety. This integrative approach helps clients to address skills to cope with emotions and feelings; interpersonal communication, daily life stressors, finances, family and work concerns, and enhancing emotional regulation in a supportive environment. Clinical techniques utilized at this level of care are psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Therapy, Advanced DBT Skills, Psychodrama, and Experiential Therapies.

  • The Create Your Path group is designed to help you develop your optimal relationship to substance use, and determine whether moderation is an option. Our framework focuses on biological, social, and psychological factors. By clarifying the many roles and meanings that substance use plays in your life, you will better understand your current pattern of use and make the positive changes you desire.

  • DBT can help you manage emotions and get a better handle on life’s ups and downs. This treatment provides clients with mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills, all tools to help you cope with difficult situations and improve relationships.

    • Be fully aware and present in the moment

    • Build tolerance for emotional distress

    • Ask for what you want and say no while maintaining self-respect and building healthy relationships with others

    • Manage emotions and decrease emotional reactivity as you work to build a life worth living
